6TH ANNUAL SLUSH AWARDS — LONG VIDEO OF THE YEAR

  |   SLUSH STAFF

It’s bold to put out a full length project in an era where budgets are dwindling faster than attention spans. But, to the few who do, to those who want to keep the full length alive and well, we salute you. And this category is our thanks.

RED RIBBON: Paid Programming never ceases to amaze, and their latest video, “Red Ribbon,” might just be their best one yet. This one is a start to finish banger, with huge spots and great trick selection. Independent snowboarding is alive and well with this one.

WHEN DOVES CRY: Bode Merrill is no stranger to blowing minds. In fact, a montage of NBD’s by Bode alone could probably fill enough time to enter the long video category. His newest offering, “When Doves Cry,” is a worthy addition to the Merrill canon. There are some jaw-droppers in here for sure.

SPIKE: Nitro came through with a proper team video to remind everyone they got some of the best riders in the game. Stax, Iris, Dom, and a few rookies, too. Add Ted Borland behind the lens, and you know this one will be on repeat for sure.

ETERNAL DESCENT: Maybe it’s poetic justice that, as we pass through another Olympic cycle, inaugural slope gold medalist Sage Kotsenburg has charted a different, some might say better path, as he spearheaded this gem of a project. And if you have any doubts as to whether the man can still jump, well, just watch.

PAVED: There seems to be an infinite number of heavy hitters on the Burton team, so you know when they come together for a full-length, things are going to get hectic. Travel the globe with these world-class rippers as they tackle everything and anything.

THE REALM: “The Realm” is simply a backcountry collective, a culmination of the best of the best, put together in a single project. Because, let’s face it, when you have Brin Alexander opening your video, you’re destined for success.
